Message:Thanks for the great models. had been hunting all over for a p47, a plane my grandfather flew in ww2. It never let him down. He scraped several but they always made it back. The citations for his 3 DFCs are un-nerving. Its amazing how any of those folks survived.

Message:Thanks so much for the P47. My late father-in-law claimed to be the smallest man to have flown one in WWII. Said he had to stand on the rudder with BOTH feet during takeoff to overcome the torque from the engine. Once his right wing was shot all to pieces and replaced, but they never did paint it so it was always silver! Thanks!
